Volume 30: The Arrival of the Saints

Chapter 587: The Emerald Holy Land

The gathering in the Pantheon came to an end, and Donald, along with the three goddesses and the two other true gods led by Thel, gathered outside the void.

“The number of true gods is limited. We human gods, from being weak at first to becoming one of the most powerful forces in the Pantheon today, have always had poor relations with the gods of other races and the dark factions. Our hostility toward the evil factions and the abyssal demons is even irreconcilable. Although the multiverse appears peaceful on the surface, wars between gods of various scales occur from time to time. Therefore, every new true god is a force we, the established gods, can strive to gain!”

Donald naturally understood the Agricultural Goddess’s point.

Whether in the main world or the multiverse, as an old proverb goes, where there are people, there are conflicts. This saying may not apply perfectly in this world of diverse intelligent races, but the meaning remains the same!

Though true gods are powerful, immortal, and exalted, they each have their own personalities and emotions, which inevitably leads to relationships of kinship, alliances, and conflicts.

“So, our main opponents are still the dark, evil factions and the gods of the abyss?”

The King of the North did not fully grasp this. Compared to the God of Kings beside him, this upright monarch was better at leading battles and paid less attention to political intrigues.

Donald explained, “That’s not all. I think the neutral true gods are more focused on maintaining balance between good and evil, protecting the interests of the gods, and ensuring stability in the material world! For example, although some gods from the order and justice factions have no real conflicts with us, if they attempt to start a widespread war among gods, we must step in to mediate. Otherwise, it could draw in more true gods in the end!”

Charlie shook his head. Such complex situations were not suitable for him to ponder. He only needed to stick to his own path and cooperate with his allies; let Donald and the others handle the rest.

After establishing his position in the multiverse, Donald had more ambitious goals to achieve.

The first was the issue of advancing to a mid-tier god. With several major divine positions, his future paths were very broad, so choosing the right direction became a crucial question.

To ascend to the rank of a mid-tier god, one must possess one primary divine role and two secondary ones—something that isn’t a problem for Donald. The question is, which ones to choose as the right and most suitable ones? Donald wields six major divine powers: Nature Guardian, Judgment, Summoner, Demon Hunter, Alchemy, and Forging. Among the domains of Nature, Purification, Growth, Summoning, Energy Conservation, Demon Slaying, Fairness, Weight, and Order, two stand out as his top priorities. First are Nature Guardian and Judgment—both are powerful roles with the potential to reach mid-tier god status or even surpass it, and in the future, they could be used to further develop and master the supreme power of Nature. Donald is not willing to give up on this path with such broad prospects. As for the professional roles of Summoner and Demon Hunter, they are more specialized with narrower scopes, typically reaching only mid-tier god status, making them poor choices for primary roles. Yet they don’t need to be discarded entirely—these profession-based powers don’t interfere with the selection of primary roles. As for Alchemy and Forging, Donald doesn’t want to be a purely research-oriented true god, so these are considered purely auxiliary roles. Like the previous two professional roles, they won’t be abandoned nor pursued as main areas of focus. Another path, aside from the Nature domain, is the Balance Divine Role, which can be formed at any time by mastering the three domains of Fairness, Weight, and Order. This powerful role, capable of reaching even higher god status, belongs to a major branch of the Order domain. Interestingly, there’s no fundamental conflict between Nature, Balance, and Order, allowing Donald to pursue both paths simultaneously. For ordinary true gods, this path is extremely difficult, even seemingly impossible. After all, the domains above the two supreme laws are beyond what ordinary true gods can fully comprehend, and even higher gods may not master them entirely. But Donald, having the dual identities of a Faith God and a Law God, can pursue each path separately, avoiding conflicts in time and effort and greatly increasing the chances of making significant progress in both domains! After roughly outlining his grand future goals, Donald bid farewell to his allies and returned to his divine kingdom to address subsequent matters. After all, there were still rewards from his previous efforts to seize the throne waiting for him to handle.

All creatures that can survive in environments such as the Void Realm and have lived there for a certain period automatically absorb trace amounts of a mysterious substance from their surroundings, regardless of their species. The mechanism and conditions behind this remain unknown even to the true gods. It is only known that beings from the Void, divine abominations, and some mutated creatures can retain this substance, while creatures from the material world, including humans, can absorb only a minuscule amount even if they can survive in the Void, making it impossible to extract much. This has thwarted some true gods’ plans to breed creatures in the Void to harvest this mysterious substance.

These invading Void creatures and divine abomination monsters, in addition to containing those trace amounts of the mysterious substance, have all other useless parts quickly turned into nutrients for the divine kingdom, strengthening its spatial structure and energy reserves.

Moreover, the corpses of these Void creatures contain many rare materials that, though not immortal, are indispensable under certain circumstances, and their value is comparable to that of ordinary divine materials!

As for the five major divine abominations, especially the body of the Hundred-Armed Giant, Donald already had a preliminary plan: after extracting the mysterious substance, he would store it properly.

With these mysterious substances, Donald cultivated numerous Immortal Lands within his divine kingdom, most of which were semi-divine in nature. Hundreds of square kilometers around the original divine kingdom’s botanical garden became such Immortal Lands.

The Immortal Land that was relocated from the Quetzalcoatl Temple within the botanical garden not only expanded significantly in size but also returned to the level of a medium Immortal Land. The pure mysterious substances extracted from the five major divine abominations played the biggest role in this; even large quantities of mysterious substances from lower-level Void creatures could not restore the level of this Immortal Land, only adding some nutrients.

Because its soil was emerald green, Donald named it the Jade Sacred Land.

“Although it is far inferior to the Golden Sacred Land of the Elven Lord and the Fertile Lands of the Goddess of Agriculture, it is still one of the rare medium-level Immortal Lands among the gods!”

After planting a batch of immortal plants, Donald looked at the Jade Sacred Land filled with various precious divine artifacts and exclaimed in satisfaction.

Although it was unlikely to return to the level of a high-tier Immortal Land in the short term, it was still very rare among the gods below the higher deities. Moreover, it contained immortal species from other worlds that had never appeared in the multiverse, which would surely be highly sought after among the gods!
