Chapter 562: The Origin of the World
In fact, even if Donald only connected the Kingdom of Azeroth to the Nodahil Plane, he could create a divine kingdom similar to those in his past life’s universe. However, the Nodahil Plane is currently just a small material plane—comparable to the vastness of the main world as a dragon is to an ant. It would take an unbeknown length of time for Nodahil to develop to the level of the main world.
Moreover, Donald himself and his trusted followers mostly lived in the main world, which made him even less willing to give up the opportunity to connect with the origin of the main world.
When Donald contacted the plane consciousness of the main world through the will of a true god, he perceived its vast yet lacking in agility, simple yet complex consciousness as nothing more than a computer program that mechanically operated based on its own logic, never adapting to changes!
The plane itself of the main world was the core of this computer. By connecting with its plane consciousness and benefiting from its favor, Donald, who had certain access rights, could clearly distinguish the various components formed by rules—identifying which part served as the control platform, which as system programs, and even components with functions like monitors, firewalls, and antivirus software!
The plane consciousness itself was equivalent to the main computer’s primary core processor, controlling and regulating all other parts.
What concerned Donald the most was the part that functioned like a firewall and antivirus software, as it represented the biggest obstacle in his quest to ascend to the throne!
The rules of the main world not only repelled foreign entities lacking the essence of that world but also constantly scanned its interior. If any attempt was made to bypass the plane barrier through vulnerabilities or if outsiders from other worlds managed to infiltrate, immediate measures would be taken to eliminate these unstable threats. Only those with higher-level powers and extreme secrecy could avoid detection by the plane consciousness—just like the innovative viruses and Trojans in his past life.
The existence of such firewall and antivirus-like mechanisms was also why beings like abyssal demons saw their strength greatly suppressed upon arriving in the main world—the stronger the demon, the greater the suppression!
If abnormal situations arose in the main world, such as unstable spatial fluctuations or polluted environments, the plane rules would promptly initiate corrective actions.
Beyond that, if powerful beings or objects from the outside world attempt to enter the main world, or if certain mortals within this world break through the limits set by the plane’s rules in pursuit of greater power, they will be repelled and attacked by those rules—this is what is known as plane backlash. It is something that demi-gods encountering divine flames, true gods being deified, or those ascending to thrones inevitably face.
Among these, plane backlash during the process of ascending to a throne is the most severe, as elevating a vast divine kingdom beyond the main world inherently damages the main world’s plane rules and structure.
Only after painstakingly gaining the permission of the plane’s consciousness did Donald succeed in extending one of the World Tree’s main roots into the core of the plane’s origin.
It is precisely because Donald, as someone favored by the plane’s will, was able to enter this most vital origin space of a world. Other true gods, even the most powerful higher gods, could only achieve this by conquering or destroying the entire plane!
The world of the plane’s origin is like another space within the main world’s plane, filled entirely with pure elements—aside from the six basic elements of air, earth, water, fire, positive energy, and negative energy. Donald detected no signs of any living beings.
“So this is what the plane’s origin looks like!”
The six elements constantly repelled each other while also being drawn together, eventually giving rise to matter, which was then expelled from the origin space. At the same time, matter from the outside world was continuously introduced and transformed into energy, once again joining the cycle of the plane’s operations.
Having witnessed the structure of the origin space, Donald’s consciousness at the level of a true god quickly understood the operating mechanism of a world: energy transforming into matter, and matter transforming back into energy, in an endless cycle that maintains the stability of a vast world.
“Then the molten rock at Earth’s core and nuclear fusion, which makes stars like the sun shine and emit heat, could also be seen as another form of conversion between matter and energy, sustaining the operation of a world!”
Leaving aside Donald’s speculations about the different forms of existence in these two universes, the moment the World Tree’s roots connected with the main world’s origin space, tremendous changes occurred in the two worlds under Donald’s control: the kingdom of Azeroth and the plane of Nordahl.
Donald felt a powerful surge of energy transmitted from the origin of the main world’s plane through the World Tree’s main roots. Only an immortal being like the World Tree, with its strong ability to handle energy, could withstand such immense power.
For the main world, only a tiny fraction of its total energy was transmitted through the World Tree. However, for a newly born realm like the Nodahill Plane and a World Tree still at the level of an elementary divine entity, it was an overwhelming force that was difficult to process at once. The World Tree had to store most of its energy in the Sunwell, a medium-tier artifact. Even this artifact, designed specifically as an energy container, could hardly hold such a large amount of energy. Fortunately, thanks to the Sunwell’s buffering effect, both the World Tree and the Sky City stationed in the Nodahill Plane were absorbing this energy at full capacity, preventing collapse due to the massive energy surge. Stimulated by the primal energy of the main world, the World Tree, which was already at the peak of its elementary divine state, evolved immediately, breaking through that limit and officially becoming an entity at the medium-tier divine level! This breakthrough occurred decades earlier than Donald had anticipated, which was just the first additional benefit of his Immortal Divine Kingdom plan. Next, the Sky City, which had previously been in a damaged state due to insufficient energy, regained its full functionality. The virtual divine avatar system established an even deeper connection with its realm, and its arcane network covered most of the Nodahill world. Additionally, the Nodahill Plane itself expanded almost twice as large in a very short time due to the infusion of primal energy from the main world, with its spatial structure becoming extremely stable as it moved closer to the scale of a medium-tier material realm. After all this, there was still plenty of energy left from the transmission in the primal space. Without Donald’s orders, the World Tree spontaneously transferred this remaining energy to the core of the Azeroth Divine Kingdom, where its main roots were located. With this energy infusion, although the space of the Azeroth Divine Kingdom did not expand much, its spatial structure and rules became more stable. At the same time, all beings within the kingdom—whether they were divine entities or ordinary creatures—evolved to some extent. Many plants and minerals that would normally take decades or even hundreds of thousands of years to mature saw their growth times significantly reduced! Of course, although considerable energy was expended, this situation also brought great benefits to the main world.
Although the origin of the main world sacrificed its power to make both Nordahil and Azeroth more perfect, stable, and powerful, it also acquired many laws unique to these two worlds, which enhanced the core laws of the main world and made the operation of its plane will more flexible. It was like an old 586 system suddenly being upgraded to Windows. Though it still lacked true autonomous consciousness, the barriers preventing abyssal demons and other alien creatures from entering the main world’s domain became much stronger, and its internal purification and restoration capabilities were greatly enhanced!
By this point in the Immortal Divine Kingdom project, even the most basic structure had been completed. The rest would require a long time, relying on the World Tree as a bridge between the three worlds to strengthen their connections and ultimately form an inseparable symbiotic entity.
“The next step is when I will truly ascend to the throne!”
After preparing for so long, Donald wasn’t overly nervous about this moment, though he still felt some excitement and concern.
He was excited because only by ascending to the throne could he truly become a powerful true god with a place in the Pantheon. This was akin to the noble class in human kingdoms—semi-gods and newly risen gods were like fallen nobles or knightly gentry, holding high status compared to ordinary people but insignificant compared to true nobles.
As for lower-tier gods, it was as if Donald had received fiefs and titles, becoming a hereditary local noble lord who ruled over a region. Even true nobles and royal families had to show respect to such figures, as having one more ally was always better than one more enemy. No one knew what might happen in the future; even powerful royal families could decline or face crises, as seen in the example of the Icu Kingdom, once second only to Gadré on the continent. Thus, gaining support from local nobles was essential!
Similarly, in the realm of true gods, it was the same—true gods and their kingdoms could be seen as a world composed of competing supernatural forces, with alliances and hostilities.
What worried him was that during his ascent to the throne, in addition to the backlash from the plane, other enemies might take the opportunity to interfere with the rise of the divine kingdom or even try to bring him down.
Of course, he was merely worried. Donald had already made thorough preparations for these potential threats and planned to invite allies such as the King of the North and the Goddess of Agriculture to lend their support. With a powerful figure like Loki stationed in Dalaran, both he himself, who would bear the backlash of the plane while holding onto the throne, and his realm as well as all those close to him could safely navigate this difficult time.
