Chapter 521: The Ruins of the Divine Tomb

Donald discovered that although the Sacred Shield was formed from the power of rules, it still contained the light and purifying forces of holy light, as well as the willpower of compassion and supreme goodness. Especially the latter—those red threads created by the tiny insects seemed to strongly resist this willpower, making it impossible for Uther to counter their attacks.

He also deduced that since these insects could not access willpower, they must be susceptible to other forms of power. Otherwise, wouldn’t these tiny creatures be invincible?

What happened later proved Donald’s assumptions correct. With most of the insects now stunned and his understanding of their weaknesses clear, he immediately thought of collecting them. Given these insects’ unique abilities, they would surely be effective in catching enemies off guard!

Since these insects feared willpower, Donald immediately thought of a way to control them. With a wave of his hand, he trapped thousands of the unconscious insects in a temporary space created by the projection of the Book of Truth. Then, out of sight of others, he used the power of faith to create an airtight cage, imprisoning them inside.

This power of faith was derived from pure willpower. Though devoid of complex emotions—positive or negative—it still rendered these terrifying insects as weak as ordinary insects, leaving them helpless and barely able to survive in the cage.

Donald had plenty of power of faith to spare, and using it to imprison these insects wouldn’t be wasted. It could even be recovered and transformed into divine power, killing two birds with one stone.

Seeing Donald deal with this group of terrifying insects, everyone present broke into cold sweats. Divine power was widely recognized as the strongest force in the world. If creatures capable of devouring divinity could overwhelm even higher gods without them realizing it, one could imagine just how terrifying and powerful these insects must be!

“That was really thrilling!” Amps exclaimed, deeply moved.

Donald turned his gaze toward the two totem demi-gods. The God of the Red River immediately understood his intent and explained, “We’ve entered here several times, but we’ve never encountered such insects before, nor have we heard any other gods mention them. We’ve faced many other dangers, though!”

Donald nodded in agreement. If they had known about these insects, the God of the White Mountain would surely have warned him in advance to be cautious of this threat.

He then said, “It seems this kind of insect is extremely rare. I guess we’re the first to see them alive. Since they feed on divinity, let’s call them God-Eating Insects!”
Donald named the insects with great interest, while the others felt relieved.
After resolving the threat posed by these insects, the ten-member team continued onward in their original direction. Even though the Truth Book’s projection indicated the shortest route, it still took them about three days to find it.
“This is…”
The group stopped and stared at the island-like floating landmass obscured by thick mist, marveling at what they saw.
The two totem demi-gods were especially delighted. The Warhammer God exclaimed loudly, “It’s actually a medium-sized god tomb site! Judging by its scale, it must be a god tomb left behind by a mid-tier god after his death. Even if it’s been discovered before, as long as the tomb itself hasn’t collapsed, its greatest advantage remains!”
Everyone present understood what the Warhammer mythology meant, and they all showed joy.
When a true god or god-like being is killed, their intense will might pull their remaining divine realm, body, or place of death into the astral realm. If the will of these deceased true gods persists, it forms what’s known as a Ghost God Tomb.
In such extreme situations, the desire to live often drives these remaining wills to go mad, causing them to lose their wisdom and blindly attack any living beings that invade their territory. They can no longer be called true gods, so such sites are generally referred to as god tombs—places where true gods rest forever after their demise.
The deities in these god tomb sites are no longer truly gods. But after all, even if a true god only has a remaining will, it’s still stronger than weak mortals. And even though those once mighty true gods have fallen, their remaining wills can still be as powerful as those of lower-tier true gods.
Thus, the gods habitually consider them to still be deities, calling them Ghost Gods or Will Gods. Inside the Ghost God Tombs, there are domain secrets and divine insignias, as well as numerous crystals of faith and other precious materials—though without a divine essence.
These god tombs, sustained entirely by the will of deceased true gods, are what are commonly referred to as true god mausoleums. There are also other forms of god tombs, as true gods die in various ways. But the most common cause is being killed by enemies. After all, aside from powerful peers, it’s difficult for immortal true gods to perish.

“Don’t get too happy too soon. The greater the benefits, the greater the threat. Even though the Will God transformed from a powerful mid-tier god after his death is far inferior to his former self, he should still be stronger than the lower-tier god avatars from his time. As demi-gods, we can’t even reach our full strength, so dealing with him will likely be quite troublesome!”
While everyone was immersed in the excitement of discovering the god tomb, Donald, who remained calm, poured cold water on their enthusiasm.
Those present who had reached this point were not the kind to let greed cloud their judgment, so upon hearing Donald’s reminder, they immediately sobered up.
“Prince Donald is right. We should be more cautious and find a way to deal with the troubles in the god tomb first!”
As the two major incarnations of true gods present—Natural Guardian Donald and King of the North, Charles—they spoke one after another, and basically no one else had any objections.
After some discussion, they decided to send two people first to explore the depth of the god tomb ruins before entering together.
Shrouded in mist and surrounded by an absolute defensive sacred shield, Uther and the Warhammer God, two demi-gods, flew toward the large island ahead.
The others waited not far behind. The two sent were one, a powerful demi-god with strong defensive abilities and skill in purging various negative forces, and the other, the top-tier demi-god, the Totem God, who excelled in direct combat. Sending them to explore the situation-unknown god tomb island was undoubtedly the best combination!
Neither of the two who went had any complaints. Although they were cooperating, they still belonged to different factions. Sending one person from each side to carry out the mission was fair enough and reassured both parties.
