Chapter 511: The White Mountain God’s Invitation
A few days later, reluctant to leave, Nozdorm finally arrived at Starfall Bay with his companion. What awaited them was a hundred pure-blooded dragons. Among them were many bronze dragons, two brass dragons, and the rest were multicolored dragons. Aside from the absence of black and white dragons, red, blue, and green dragons were all present. There were even groups of fairy dragons, a special breed also known as elf dragons, scattered across the island. With their beautiful forms fluttering in the air, they added even more splendor to the already fairy-tale-like Emerald Dream.
However, the appearance of so many multicolored dragons surprised Natalie, who had been preparing for battle due to her initial tension. Aside from sensing an evil aura in a few colored dragons, she didn’t detect that obvious evil traits in most of them. This surprised even the Silver Dragon Princess, who had considerable experience. Nozdorm explained that these dragons had been tamed by his great master, with most of the evil ones having turned neutral. Even if some hadn’t fully transformed, they would eventually shed their evil nature and become dragons yearning for peace. Natalie didn’t doubt this, as the immense power of a true god was beyond the comprehension of a mere legendary silver dragon like her—especially since her legendary strength itself was somewhat exaggerated.
This unique young silver dragon, who called herself the Silver Dragon Princess, wasn’t lying to Donald and the others. She was indeed the daughter of the strongest chieftain of the existing silver dragon tribe in the main world, so it was fitting to call her a princess. According to dragon tradition, when dragons reach adolescence, they leave their parents’ protection to seek their own territory, build nests, hunt, and start independent lives. Some irresponsible dragon parents even drive their young away when they are still hatchlings. This is part of their nature. In most dragon clans, a pair of mates usually lives separately outside mating season, each having their own nest and treasures, which cannot be mixed together. Thus, even though Natalie’s father was the strongest chieftain of the silver dragon tribe, he could at most provide more care for his offspring—they generally did not live together.
Natalie was in her typical rebellious teenage phase, and coupled with her exceptional strength—ranked among the top five in her entire tribe due to an accident—she ran away from home and went alone to settle on an island thousands of miles away from the tribe. That’s why she was easily deceived by a few sweet words from the virgin dragon Nozdormu.
Upon arriving in the beautiful Emerald Dream and seeing Nozdormu’s magnificent temple and the human worshippers who served it, the silver dragon girl’s admiration turned into even greater reverence.
The Creator is fair—after all, dragons possess immense innate talents, but this is also a limitation. After reaching adulthood, advancing further is more than ten times harder than for humans. Thus, those who become legends are extremely rare, and divine dragons are even rarer. As a result, only two dragons have ever become true gods, and the number of demi-god dragons is something even a five-year-old child could count.
Therefore, any dragon with the talent to become a god is respected by all dragons.
Moreover, Nozdormu was already a true deity who had attained the status of Sea Lord. The dragons had migrated overseas for thousands of years and still knew much about such a being as the Sea Lord.
According to the lore in the history of Warcraft, the five Dragon Kings are all demi-god-level powerhouses, on par with the Jungle Guardian Senarius. Due to the innate talents of dragons, their strength can even rival that of true gods.
Although the Eternal King summoned by Donald was far from reaching demi-god status at first, its talent and potential were undiminished. Given enough time to rise from legendary status to demi-god level, its combat power would be on par with peak demi-god warriors, even capable of challenging true gods.
Dragons have long lifespans, usually living between 600 and 800 years. Among them, those who ascend to legendary status see their lifespans extend far beyond a thousand years—something incomparable to short-lived races like humans.
If human legendary warriors lack other opportunities, they can at most live for 500 to 600 years. Without attaining divinity and ascending to demi-god status, they ultimately face death like ordinary people.
However, humans’ advantage lies in their vastly larger population and reproductive capacity, along with their intelligent creativity, which has led to the emergence of many powerful individuals among them, enabling them to become the dominant force on the continent today.
In this regard, even long-lived races like elves and dragons cannot compare. As for orcs, whose reproductive capacity surpasses that of humans, it is due to their generally lower intelligence, forcing them to be driven out of the most fertile lands and settle in the harsh northern wastelands to make a living. Moreover, the combined power of human deities is the strongest among all deities; if not for the irreconcilable conflicts among them, the deities of other races would have long been conquered by the true human gods. Thus, under Nozdormu’s aggressive efforts, the silver dragon princess Natali officially settled in the Emerald Dream. Her bronze dragon master even selected a cliff with the most beautiful scenery and environment for her to build her dragon lair. The relationship between the two dragons grew increasingly close, and it is likely that Nozdormu will soon get his wish! Apart from Nozdormu, who relied on his racial advantages to bring back over a dozen various dragons, other powerful figures from Dalaran did not achieve satisfactory results. Only the legendary archmage Chikofield and Carlisle, relying on their knowledge of dragons and clues they had obtained, brought back a gold dragon and a white dragon respectively. Thus, in Donald’s Dragon Kingdom, apart from the bronzes that prefer tropical desert areas and the dark and evil black dragons, the two major dragon species—color dragons and metal dragons—were essentially complete. Donald didn’t care about how the dragons gathered, as it was nothing more than collective hunting and picnics. After bringing all the dragons under his control, Donald began to regulate time in his divine kingdom. Although maintaining this state required considerable divine power, the results were significant. The remaining tasks were left to Nozdormu, to whom he had granted free access to the divine kingdom. While waiting for the dragon plans to develop, Donald was not idle either, continuing to refine the rules of his divine kingdom. Several months later, news came from Ciri, the subordinate deity in the New World. The Lord of the White Mountain personally invited him, prompting Donald to put aside his nearly completed work on the divine kingdom and teleport directly to the Great Temple in Golden Sand City on the New World. Although this place was Ciri, the god of adventure and sailing,’s domain, out of respect for Donald, Ciri ordered that Donald’s statue be placed in the center of the temple, with his own statue on one side, and the statues of the various totem deities below. In the past, the totem deities only had crude altars and totems for worshippers to pray before; the temple statues and other facilities were newly built after Ciri accepted Donald’s suggestions.
As for the temples of the King of the North and the Conqueror, they are located on the other side of the city. This is because although the King of the North discussed the idea of establishing a pantheon with Donald, now is not the right time. Thus, they remain allies rather than subordinates, and it is naturally impossible to place their statues in the same temple.
True gods are all unique. Even if two true gods belong to the same faction, their sacred realms cannot be merged in one temple, as this would inevitably lead to conflicts in divine power.
Currently, human beliefs in the Chiri Chiefdom of the New World are roughly divided into three groups. The first is the totem god pantheon led by Chiri, which represents primitive totem worship, as this is the domain of the god of adventure and sailing. Hence, the most followers of Chiri exist here, including both indigenous people and immigrants from the main continent.
The second group is those who worship Donald, the natural guardian who has performed many miracles in the New World. His followers are quite diverse, forming several small groups. However, with two powerful priests sent by the Natural Guardians Council to oversee them, no major problems arise.
Finally, there are the two Celtic true gods, the King of the North and the Conqueror Cezar. Those who worship Charles are mostly Celtic immigrants. Their temples and followers are also mostly concentrated in the areas under Celtic rule within the United Kingdom.
Unlike other colonies of the New World, the Celtic and Chiri United Kingdom is arguably the most prosperous region, with the indigenous people having the least resistance to the main continent.
As for other true god churches, protected by local deities like Chiri, they dare not risk offending legitimate territories and the interests of true god churches by attempting to spread their faith in the United Kingdom areas after the pact between the gods of the two continents was signed.
When Donald arrived at the great temple in Golden Sand City, he met the God of White Mountain, who had come in person.
“Your Highness Donald, compared to the true god temples on your continent, our totem god altars are far too primitive and simple. Every time I come here, I feel this way, and perhaps I should build a temple back home as well!”
“Your Highness God of White Mountain, you flatter me. There are countless magnificent temples in our land. If you had seen the Elven Great Temple built by the elves or the Glorious Temple of the Lord of Dawn, you would know that my temple here is merely of ordinary scale!”
Then Donald shifted his tone and asked kindly, “It’s been a long time. I wonder how Your Highness Green Tree is doing.”
Upon hearing mention of the Green Tree God, the White Mountain God wore a gentle smile and nodded, saying, “Thanks to Your Highness Donald’s help, the Green Tree is recovering well and will soon regain its status as a demi-god!”
Donald smiled slightly in response and said, “Congratulations to both of you. It seems that another powerful lower god will soon appear on the Totem Continent. As for you, Your Highness White Mountain, coming here in person today, there must be some important matter at hand!”
“I knew I couldn’t hide it from you!”
The White Mountain God said with a laugh, then grew serious.
“This time, it’s because of an important event about to take place that I’ve come to seek your help!”
“Oh?”
Donald was somewhat surprised and curious.
Among the gods on the Totem Continent, aside from the two Divine Kings, the White Mountain God was already one of the most powerful figures. The fact that even he needed help meant, Donald was sure, it was certainly no easy task.
