Chapter 479: The God of the North Wind

Indeed, Donald’s plan was to steal faith power from the true gods of the orc race, who had millions of followers. Even though most orcs were followers of the dictator Ughash, only about a hundred thousand orcs worshipped the two true gods, Bigger and Kara—still far more than the total number of his followers across the demi-plane and two continents combined.
Moreover, many orcs, while worshiping the dictator, also believed in the other four new orc gods, ensuring that each of these four true gods had well over a hundred thousand followers.
This represented a tremendous amount of faith power. After all, even the human gods did not possess the faith of millions of orcs like Ughash did. Although the human population on the main continent totaled over ten million, only about 70% of them had formal beliefs, and those 70% were shared among numerous gods. It was already impressive for a weak true god to gain tens of thousands of followers!
Only a few established lower or middle-tier gods could typically have hundreds of thousands of followers. New gods like Donald, let alone even more disadvantaged demigods, couldn’t even dream of it!
For this reason, the King of the North could alone command the faith of hundreds of thousands of people in Celt—though most were merely casual worshippers, it was still a number that made true gods jealous!
Which true god wouldn’t want faith power that could be obtained effortlessly?
With this in mind, Donald didn’t bother studying the power of his newly acquired two divine essences. He simply released Kara’s body and followed the same procedure.
As time passed, faith power accumulated around the divine essences and soon overflowed, gradually compressing into small crystals of faith.
A few hours later, under the murderous gazes of the puppets of the two true gods, Bigger and Kara, who wanted to devour Donald alive, he gently picked off the two finger-sized crystals of faith formed above their heads.
“It seems that many true gods’ past attempts to eradicate the orc race were unwise. Such valuable faith resources would be a waste if destroyed!”
Hearing Donald’s light laughter, King Charles of the North also opened his eyes.
As one of the most powerful new gods, King Charles didn’t struggle much to assimilate the power of a true god of his own rank. What took time was further mastering and controlling his divine domain in the future.

By absorbing the priesthood of the Winter, he was able to integrate certain law domains related to cold and ice that originated from his original divine body, combining them with the relevant priesthood domains of the Northland Guardian. As a result, Charles managed to create another priesthood. This newly acquired priesthood, derived from a combination of the powers of the Northland Guardian and the Winter priesthood along with the elements of wind, became known as the Priesthood of the North Wind. In fact, the Priesthood of the North Wind can be considered the most unique composite priesthood among them—possessing both spatialregion characteristics and elements of related law domains. Such priesthoods are rare, as regional guardian priesthoods are the least principle-based; sometimes, simply pleasing the will of nature is enough to gain them, unlike law priesthoods, profession, or race-based priesthoods, which are more predictable! Now, King Charles of the Northlands no longer simply goes by the title of Northland Guardian—he is also the God of Winter and the God of the North Wind. This is a glory that must be praised in all formal prayers of his followers! “Congratulations, Your Highness Charles!” Donald was the first to sense Charles’s changes from a distance; it was clear that his power had increased significantly. If not for the power of the law priesthood he concealed and without using divine artifacts, Donald believed he was only slightly stronger than Charles. At the level of true gods above demigods, mastering each additional priesthood represents a substantial boost in power for a deity. “I must thank You again, Your Highness Donald, for your help!” The King of the Northlands didn’t say much in terms of gratitude; he simply kept it in mind. “What’s going on?” Seeing the two once-great orc gods trapped, along with their divine essences above their heads, the King of the Northlands asked in confusion. Just as he was about to explain his experiment, a disturbance was detected on the other side of the underground altar, where King Celt VII was. Donald then smiled and said, “It’s time for His Majesty Celt VII! Your Highness Charles, perhaps it’s time for you to step in and help him?” On the other side of the altar, King Celt VII, who was absorbing faith energy to merge his sacred spirit body with that demigod form, had already established a preliminary connection with the body after all these adjustments. Through the exchange of energies, a portion of his illusory spirit body naturally merged into that demigod form.

The residual divinity in the original body of the demigod Axie was not enough to cause significant trouble to Celt VII, who already possessed peak legendary strength and excelled at wielding faith-based powers. The real problem lay in the extremely tiny glimmering forces hidden within his body. These forces arose spontaneously from Axie’s physique under the influence of divinity, resembling the extreme radiant energy bestowed by the Lord of Dawn—energy that repelled all other types of powers. Though these forces were so weak that even a golden-powered warrior could gradually drive them away under normal conditions, the fact that they originated from the flesh of this body greatly hindered Celt VII’s efforts to assimilate it. Even Donald had no effective solution; although he could fully understand the radiant energy given by the Lord of Dawn in Axie’s body, he could not eradicate these forces that originated from within the body and could regenerate at any time. Seeing that Celt VII’s progress in integrating the body was sluggish, the King of the North immediately unleashed his own power, enveloping Celt VII’s sacred spirit and his body. The powerful domain of a true god had a strong suppressive effect on these naturally generated, minor radiant forces. Under its pressure, those forces weakened significantly and soon stopped resisting the integration of Celt VII’s sacred spirit. With the help of King Charles of the North, Celt VII quickly integrated most of his spiritual essence into the body. The once lifeless corpse, now with the entry of his sacred spirit, seemed to be reborn as it began to move again. About five hours later, as the last remnants of his spiritual essence disappeared from the body, Celt VII had initially integrated the demigod body. Since this body no longer possessed its own will, and Celt VII’s sacred spirit was extremely powerful, he quickly took control of the new body. With a little more time, he would reach the critical stage of igniting divine fire and achieving immortality.
