Chapter 352: The Sun in the Half-Plane
After witnessing the power of the innate spiritual treasure, the Purple Golden Gourd, in comparison, the Glorious Purgatory created by the God of Dawn, a secondary divine artifact, paled in comparison! It would be more comparable if it could eventually be combined into a powerful intermediate divine artifact.
Realizing the potential and power of such divine artifacts, Donald naturally wanted to create one as well. However, first, he didn’t know the rules involved, and second, he didn’t have any ready-made divine materials. Even if he managed to piece together one using the Book of Truth, its power would still be similar to that of the Purgatory Book, making it practically useless to him. So, he decided to wait until he found a natural divine substance suitable for developing into such an artifact before taking action.
The trace of divinity possessed by the Lord of Dawn encompassed the realms of light and fire, which could eventually develop into priestly roles related to light and fire. Light and fire are essential in the natural world, so under the embrace of natural divinity, these two principles coexisted peacefully with the original divinity for now.
After initially mastering the divinities of light and fire, Donald realized that they were both opposed to and complementary to his natural divinity. If only these two existed alongside his natural divinity, integration would be no problem. But since his earliest divinity was the primal divinity of the ancient evil god—whose realms of ice, snow, and cold could also blend with natural divinity—integrating light and fire inevitably led to conflicts between opposing elements. Even with his natural divinity accounting for three-fifths of his total divinity, he needed to take measures quickly to avoid hindering his own growth.
Thus, Donald extracted from the Codex of Gods some of the principles from the realms of earth, water, and air he had previously acquired. He expended a great deal of divine energy to condense these into divinities, which he then integrated into his soul’s core one by one.
The sources of these divine principles were all elements compatible with nature, forming a cycle of interaction and balance that together constituted a complete world.
Although the realm of darkness was not essential, where there is light, there is darkness—its existence is reasonable. Moreover, the realm of darkness wasn’t entirely associated with the evil faction. So, he also absorbed and integrated that trace of dark divinity he had previously kept untouched.
After all, this realm’s essence came from the divinity of Elsa, the Goddess of Night—a venerable goddess known as the Mother of Darkness and the Origin of Night. Even though only this small trace of her divinity remained, the principles it contained seemed far more powerful and complex than those of the Lord of Dawn, another high-ranking god.
Lady Shadow’s divinity is also a glimmer of brilliant light, yet like starlight—by gazing into it, one can explore endless darkness from within the light. Moreover, after being processed by the Goddess of Agriculture, Eilwen, this divinity can be directly integrated without further intervention from the Book of Truth. “These are the weak divine forces of darkness, night, and shadow—it seems Lady Shadow truly deserves to be one of the oldest and most powerful true gods!” After integrating this fragment of the Goddess of Night’s divinity, Donald found himself suddenly possessing domains over the laws of darkness, night, and shadow. Like the Lord of Dawn, the Goddess of Night naturally possessed more than just these three domains, but even higher gods could not extract all the power of another true god from the remnants of their divinity. In fact, he was able to obtain these three domains only because of the Goddess of Agriculture’s timely intervention; otherwise, most of the power in this fragment of divinity would have dissipated when Lady Shadow’s will separated from her avatar! After acquiring these divine forces, Donald saw his soul pillar become even brighter, and the blessed world created under the support of those towering pillars grew even more vast and real. There were now sunrises and sunsets, mountains and rivers, as well as weather phenomena like wind, rain, storms, and snow. If not for the complete absence of living creatures, it would have been a truly real world. Of course, Donald could also imagine various animals and even create a bustling human kingdom, but he knew that without the relevant domains, no matter how real it seemed, it would remain illusory. With domains, even the illusory could become real. He didn’t intend to be merely a true god who developed solely within the realm of nature, but an overly complex composition of divinity would hinder the ignition of the divine flame. Thus, for now, the six fundamental elements were sufficient to form a basic cycle of laws, centered on natural forces. He believed that once the divine flame was ignited, his strength would far surpass that of other demigods! “And after crossing the threshold of becoming a demigod by igniting the divine flame, with such a foundation, I can uncover even more powerful forces. At least for stages like perfecting my divinity before ascending to the throne, obtaining divine offices, and solidifying my divine essence, there will be no major obstacles left for me!” Donald was extremely excited about this.
The realm of nature is not just about plants and trees. As one of the eight supreme laws, its associated deities number far more than those in the current Human Gods Alliance. Ranging from the most minor deities such as herbs, vines, ferns, and fungi to more powerful ones like trees, animals, forests, and the earth, almost all are encompassed within the nature pantheon. Even deities related to elements like storms, rain, and lightning, which fall under energy aspects, are included in this realm since they are classified as celestial phenomena.
The eight supreme laws blend and evolve to give rise to numerous other laws at various levels. Thus, even if a newly ascended true god claims the title of Creator God, if he hasn’t reached that level, he cannot exert powers beyond his current rank.
Moreover, such a false title of true god can provoke disdain and hostility from more powerful true gods. A simple obstacle placed by them can be a significant setback for the newcomer!
Therefore, gaining partial authority over some of the laws of nature’s wrath through chance is arguably the greatest fortune after the Book of Truth! Three days have passed since the divine elements were integrated. Only the final tasks remain for the mage tower, and the craftsmen and architects have been sent back to Dalaran. What’s left needs to be completed by a few mages working together. The two masters and the architects invited by Grand Duke Theron have also temporarily left the mage tower to avoid complications.
After stepping out of the tent, Donald retracted his puppet creatures and joined in the final construction of the mage tower.
Soon, just a few days later, the mage tower was completed, with the last step being to create an intelligent tower spirit.
Since Hentia had previously expressed her desire to reside here, in addition to Donald holding the highest authority, he granted Hentia and her siblings level one authority. The teacher and Chris also had level one authority, while all mages below the silver rank had level two authority!
Simplicity was key at this critical moment. Declining Grand Duke Theron’s invitation to a celebration banquet, and for safety reasons, Donald used magic ships to transport everyone remaining at Dragonfang Fortress to the new territory. Then, through a portal, he sent Durai and the others back to Thelos.
Presumably, those who intended to ambush them along the way will be disappointed. As for Andrew, he probably can’t cause much of a stir anymore, so everyone chose to ignore him.
Donald and the others returned to their territory through the portal. Only Hentia and the Malf siblings remained on the Swordhorn Bay Peninsula, along with the Dark Knights who were temporarily stationed there in the name of the territory—this fulfilled Jack’s wish. At least after years apart, he could correspond with his beloved and even meet up occasionally!
As for building the new territory, that would have to wait until Donald returned from Dalaran.
Right now, Donald was busy with the fusion of the demi-planes—a task no small matter, as it involved the lives of thousands of believers and his main source of faith energy. Any negligence could lead to serious consequences.
So Donald had to handle it personally to avoid problems.
The trace of divinity within the sub-divine artifact carried the purifying effects of light and fire, transforming all the energy absorbed from the Purgatory Space into pure radiant energy, while the residual matter became the gray land there.
Without the restraint of divinity, the land in the Purgatory Demiplane was still manageable, but those light-based energies posed a threat to the creatures in the demiplane during the fusion of the two.
Thus, Donald took some materials and used the Book of Truth to create a prototype of a sub-divine artifact, gathering all that energy to prevent issues during the fusion.
To an omnipotent god, the fusion of the two demiplanes might not be anything significant, and it paled in comparison to the power generated by the merger of the Main World and the Totem Continent—two major material planes. But for the indigenous human believers in those demiplanes, it was an earth-shattering event.
Feeling the intense ground vibrations, the indigenous believers rushed out of their townhouses in panic, screaming in fear.
Donald had no patience to wait for these people from the Totem Continent to build houses on their own. With their poor construction skills, their thatched huts were crooked and twisted, resembling postmodern abstract art. So he simply used energy to manifest two towns for them.
To these believers, it was yet another miracle displayed by their god, Donald.
Then, the natives were stunned as a beam of light appeared on the horizon. Countless rays of light formed a luminous band, and amidst thunderous noises, a vast grayish-white land could be seen stretching toward the edge of their world.
The demi-plane space is limited; what these indigenous humans consider the horizon is merely a few dozen miles away from them. This is also why the merger between the two demi-planes is strictly restricted, as the residual effects of spatial energy are blocked from spreading. Otherwise, with such a short distance, these indigenous humans would surely suffer heavy casualties! Next, from the grayish-white land, that is, the eastern horizon of the demi-plane, a brilliantly shining sun rose, illuminating the entire world of the demi-plane!
