Chapter 321: The First Demigod’s Underling
The demigod demon Amps, who was sneering inwardly, didn’t realize that to this day, only he, Donald, had ever schemed against others—no one else had ever managed to scheme against him!
With the approval of Abyssal Demon Forger, Donald waved his hand and used Mage Hand to snatch the demon badge crafted by the demon itself.
The massive badge was mostly made of rare Abyssal Demon Iron, with the summoning spell circle on it crafted from a significant amount ofsilver. In Donald’s eyes, aside from the precious materials, everything else about the badge was extremely shoddy. Fortunately, the spell circle inside was still intact, with no errors.
“You really used a lot of materials on this badge! Demigod demons are indeed wealthy. If it were me, I could use these materials to craft three identical demon badges!”
These words made Amps blush slightly. Although it possessed many powerful spell-like abilities and supernatural talents, it had never had the aptitude to understand arcane theory over the years. It had only managed to master the summoning spell circle in this badge after forcing a dark elf mage to teach it, spending decades doing so to avoid mistakes that could lead to failure. Countless materials had been wasted over the years.
Fortunately, Abyssal Demon Forger’s skin was already red, so its complexion wouldn’t be noticeable unless one knew about demons.
Donald reforged the badge, separating half of the Abyssal Demon Iron from it. The newly crafted demon badge appeared even more exquisite, featuring Abyssal Demon Forger’s image, which looked lifelike. The summoning spell circle inside underwent minor adjustments, reducing its size significantly. Though the stacked spell circles now appeared more complex, their effectiveness remained unchanged.
Amps examined the badge thoroughly but found no traps. So, it inscribed its true name and soul energy inside the badge’s spell circle—only in this way could its true form be summoned to the main world, allowing it to completely escape the Abyssal Plane.
It was for this reason that it didn’t want to seek out even more powerful beings. If a spellcaster above legendary status obtained its true name, it would likely become a slave to the badge holder forever!
Next, Donald also imprinted his soul mark beneath the summoning ritual circle of the badge. Now, a connection existed between the two of them. As long as Donald expended enough magic power and mental energy to summon it, or sacrificed the souls and flesh of several other beings, he could bring forth the true form of the demi-god demon from the abyss. It would then be much easier to find a way to keep it in the main world and prevent it from being sent back to the abyss!
“Before starting the summoning, let’s sign the contract first!”
Seeing that Donald wasn’t relaxing at all and remained so cautious, Amps didn’t mind. After all, it believed its own strength was sufficient to counter all of this human mage’s tactics. As long as it could escape the abyss and reach the main world, its fate would depend on Donald’s performance!
After reading the contract that Donald had conjured out of thin air, Amps was surprised. It hadn’t expected a gold-ranked human mage to know how to create such advanced plane contracts.
If it really was such a contract, then it might not be able to kill this guy easily once they reached the main world, otherwise it might face punishment under the contract and be unable to survive there.
“Never mind. I can just serve him for a few years. After all, mortals have limited lifespans. I guess in a few hundred years, this guy will just be a pile of dust!” Amps thought to itself. After checking it several times, it confirmed that, just like the badge, there were no traps. Demons were also masters at manipulating contracts. Amps didn’t think its judgment could fail to spot the tricks of a gold mage, so it formally signed the contract with him.
“Hurry up, summon me already! I’ve stayed in that hellish Deep Pit Demon Web long enough…” The Abyssal Demon Smith stared at the human mage, his eyes flickering, muttering in his heart.
After the contract was signed, it didn’t dissipate into the air as usual but turned into a beam of light that flowed into the demon badge in Donald’s hand.
“What’s going on?”
The Abyssal Demon Smith instinctively sensed something wrong. He saw that the situation inside the badge had changed drastically—not only had the summoning ritual circle become more complex, but there was also a highly meticulous contract inscribed within, with hardly any flaws.
Amps’s soul projection, however, felt an immense force restraining it, too powerful to resist. It could only think of submission toward the human mage, not daring to show any disrespect. If hostility arose, a sense of impending destruction would emanate from the depths of its soul.
Ampos pointed at Donald in disbelief and said, “What have you done to me?”
Donald replied with a smile, “What could I have done? I just added some additional terms to the contract we agreed on earlier. As long as you abide by it fairly, everything will be fine. But if you harbor any malicious thoughts, you’ll be completely under my control—your life and death lie in my hands. It’s a form of insurance! Otherwise, why do you think I would risk my life to free you?”
The summoning ritual in that badge indeed didn’t contain any direct traps, but once combined with this contract, new changes occurred. Certain words and terms in the contract were altered to fit the current situation, turning it from a plane-based contract into a supreme contract witnessed by the flow of time. And Ampos, being an abyssal demon master with malicious intentions, was instantly trapped by Donald. With the contract transformed, he became a servant whose life, death, and even soul were under Donald’s control.
“Are you really just an ordinary human? Why do I feel like you’re even more terrifying than the most skillful manipulator of hearts, a fallen monarch, or the king of lies, who excels at deception?”
Ampos looked at Donald as if he were a terrifying demon god disguised as a human, hiding his true nature.
“You what? You should call me master!”
Unconsciously controlled by Donald’s words, Ampos spoke with a twisted expression.
“Yes, master…”
While feeling frustrated and regretful, he also experienced an inexplicable sense of closeness and submission—this was the power of the contract at work. Even a powerful higher deity like Ampos, a half-god abyssal demon master, couldn’t resist the influence of a supreme contract.
Now, Ampos’s thoughts were also beginning to change.
Perhaps this was for the best. It was better than being tortured by that perverted Spider Queen. He had had enough of the extreme emptiness and pain as if his soul was being ripped out each time. Moreover, this new master didn’t seem like a fallen monarch who liked to experiment with different things. At least his precious demonic buttocks were safe!
Unaware of these thoughts in his new servant, Donald was still excited and satisfied with having gained his first half-god-level subordinate.
