Chapter 136: The Return of the Demon God, the Young Master Su’s Conditions

The story continues, but what else will happen in Liu Yi’s world? That remains unknown. One thing is certain, however—Liu Yi’s world will change again. As for how it will change and what the outcomes will be, only you can find out by reading on.

This is the heart of Fengdu Ghost City. Originally, this place belonged to the demons, serving as the intersection between the Yin and Yang realms. Here, the demons allied with the ghosts, and the underworld buried all its dead souls here. Since Fengdu Ghost City is the shortest path to the Nine Netherlands, and the ghosts have been gone for nearly a thousand years, this area now belongs to the demons.

Due to the chaos caused by the Demon God of the Nine Netherlands, Fengdu Ghost City is in ruins. Gray dust fills the air, causing the demons inside to either flee or die. Now, it looks no different from a dead city.

Yet, there are people inside this “dead” city—not just one, but two…

A trembling voice said, “Young master, young master, let’s go back. This place is so eerie and terrifying. I’m scared… there might be ghosts.”

Another voice snapped, “Damn it, you worthless fool! What are you afraid of? Money can make even ghosts work. If I meet a ghost, I’ll make it pull my donkey.”

Following their voices, they indeed saw a young man in green riding a donkey, accompanied by a middle-aged servant in a gray robe, leading the donkey as they slowly approached.

With the gray dust swirling and the sun setting, it was difficult to see their faces clearly. But from their conversation, it was obvious they were master and servant.

At that moment, the boy on the donkey began to complain, “My old dad really is an idiot. Our Su family has been farmers since ancient times, yet he insists I pursue an official career. It would be better if he just killed me! Reading all day is deadly.”

It seems this boy is a nouveau riche…

The servant walked slowly and replied, “Young master, actually, your father does it for your own good. He hopes our Su family can produce an official to bring honor to our ancestors.”

The boy on the donkey glanced at the middle-aged man and said, “What do you know? Do I look like someone who can study? I’d rather fight with a sword or a knife. If it weren’t for my dad forcing me, I wouldn’t have run away from home and come to this hellish place. Now I’m lost.”

Remembered by the boy as a “hellish place,” the servant shuddered and said, “Young master, this place really seems unholy. I think we should leave quickly.”

The boy shook his head. “Do you think I don’t want to leave? The problem is we still haven’t gotten out yet.”

As the boy continued to complain, a sudden gust of wind blew, sending dust everywhere. The already gloomy ghost city became even more eerie and terrifying.

The donkey beneath the young man let out a loud neigh, seemingly sensing something was wrong. It suddenly lifted its body, throwing the young man to the ground, then galloped away at full speed. The servant, still holding the donkey’s reins, was too panicked to untie them and ended up running along with the wild donkey. Indeed, the man and donkey were fast—within moments, they were out of sight.

The young man in green cursed as he watched the donkey and man disappear into the gloom. “Damn it, they’re really fast! Wait till I catch you and give you a good beating!”

Just as he prepared to chase after them, a violent storm erupted, plunging the area into darkness as if they had suddenly been transported to another world. Nothing could be seen anymore, not even the streets.

The young man seemed quite bold. Shouting, “Damn it… Which brat is playing around with your Master Su? If you’ve got guts, come out and fight me to the death!” he pulled out a rusty axe from his back—apparently Master Su’s self-defense weapon.

He had seemed quite gentle earlier, but now his words were even more vulgar than those of the Great Sword King or the Top Ten Heroes.

At that moment, a black shadow rose suddenly from the ground, surrounded by green mist. All that could be seen were a pair of blood-red eyes, a shadowy figure, and arms like iron claws. The lower half of its body was invisible. The shadow was about the size of Master Su and three others, seemingly floating in the air.

Master Su weighed the rusty axe in his hand and, seemingly unafraid, said to the black shadow, “Who are you, you brat? Do you run out of money? If you just move out of the way, I’ll give you a thousand or eight hundred silver coins. Your master can easily afford that.”

The black shadow didn’t answer Master Su’s question. Instead, it stared at the young man with its blood-red eyes. Its hoarse voice, whether speaking to itself or to the young man, said, “Not bad. A pretty good body. Though not as useful as a true demon’s, it’s still excellent.”

Master Su glared at the black shadow. “I’m asking you a question! Stop acting stupid in front of me! Be careful—I might chop you in half! Tell me your name!”

It seemed this kid really thought his axe was powerful. Clearly, he had inherited his father’s bad temper. Even with money, he remained a fool.

The black shadow replied in its hoarse voice, “You can call me the Nine Nether Demon God.”

Master Su burst into laughter. When he stopped laughing, he continued, “Damn it! Stop talking about demons and gods in front of me! I don’t believe that nonsense! If you’re sensible, move aside for me!”

The Nine Nether Demon God didn’t get angry at Master Su. It seemed it had no temper at all. It simply said in its hoarse voice, “I don’t need your money. But if you agree to one condition of mine, I can make you the most famous person in this world. You’ll be at the top, supreme—demons and gods will all be under your control.”

Young Master Su listened, seemingly very interested, and quickly asked again, “You mean… as long as I agree to one condition of yours, you can make me the most prominent person? Does that mean there will be many beautiful girls offering themselves to me, and plenty of silver coins I can use freely?”
The black shadow didn’t move at all but replied, “Of course. You can control the weather and remove all obstacles to get whatever you want. And the condition is simply that you must agree to one of my demands.”
At this moment, Young Master Su seemed to be daydreaming, not hearing what the Nine Nether Demon God was saying… Perhaps he was already imagining himself surrounded by countless women, or drinking fine wine atop a mountain of gold.
The Nine Nether Demon God continued, “Well? Are you interested in becoming someone who can control the weather?”
Young Master Su immediately replied, “Of course! Who wouldn’t want to be able to control the weather and live like a god? I agree! I’ll accept your condition. But what is it?”
At that moment, the Nine Nether Demon God’s eyes glowed red, and he burst into wild laughter. Sand flew and stones scattered as the dark space returned to its original state. A hoarse voice was heard, “The condition is simple: I want your soul in exchange for using your body.”
With that evil laugh, a black shadow rushed into Young Master Su’s body. As the darkness seeped in, his eyes grew vacant. Gradually, he began to lose consciousness. As the black shadow disappeared from his body, Young Master Su slowly collapsed…
