Chapter 33: The Thousand-Year War, the Sword-Slicing Move
If one can be with the person they truly love, even living in a tiny room is better than having thousands of spacious houses. (Gu Long)
……
Shi Jieyi quickly grabbed a bowl and rushed out—seemingly having gone days without eating.
Liu Yi exclaimed, “Wow! Did you bring out a basin?”
Shi Jieyi chuckled, “No, this is just the biggest bowl here. Eating nothing but plain soup every day is driving me crazy.” Without caring about Liu Yi or Jili’er, he went about his own business.
Liu Yi set down the empty soup bowl and asked, “Have King Great Sword and Senior Mo had their soup yet?”
Jili’er smiled and said, “Don’t worry about that. I already brought it to them before bringing it to you.”
Liu Yi laughed, “You little trickster. But the soup really tastes good. Whoever marries you will be very lucky.”
As she cleaned up, Jili’er said, “Then marry me! I’ll cook delicious food for you every day, haha.”
Before Liu Yi could respond, Shi Jieyi raised his head from the bowl and said, “Great! Boss, if you marry her, I’ll get to eat delicious food too.” Then he buried his head back in the bowl, which looked like a basin.
Liu Yi shook his head helplessly, not knowing what to say.
Jili’er glanced at Liu Yi, expressionless, and said, “What? Are you tired? You haven’t had proper rest these past few days. Let me find you a room so you can sleep well.”
Liu Yi nodded. “Okay. You’re right—I’m really tired. I feel weak all over.”
Jili’er looked at Shi Jieyi and asked, “What about Big Brother Shi Yi? There aren’t many rooms. Will he sleep with you?”
Shi Jieyi shook his head. “No, it’s fine for me here. I can sleep sitting down too, hehe.”
Jili’er looked at him strangely and said, “Aren’t you tired? You should find a bed to rest on.”
Shi Jieyi placed the huge bowl on the table, wiped his mouth with his sleeve, and said, “I’m not tired. It’s perfect here. I can also take care of Ajiu.”
Liu Yi waved his fan at Jili’er and said, “Alright, stop troubling Big Brother Shi Yi. Hurry up and find me a place to sleep…”
Jili’er glanced around, chuckled, and said, “Got it. Come with me.” She gestured for him to follow.
Liu Yi followed her to a hut at the edge. It was tidy and clean. Before Jili’er could say anything, he rushed to the bed, stretched, and said, “Alright, time to sleep.” Then he really closed his eyes.
Jili’er stared at Liu Yi lying on the bed and snapped, “You bookworm! Go ahead and sleep. I’ll wake you up for dinner.” With that, she turned and walked out.
Liu Yi felt extremely tired. For some reason, as soon as he closed his eyes, he had no strength to move. His whole body became limp, and gradually, he lost consciousness…
If someone entered the room at this moment, they would surely see Liu Yi’s body emitting a dark red light. Judging from the intensity of the light, the source seemed to be the quarter red jade around Liu Yi’s neck—the mysterious red jade added by Uncle Jiu from Fengmo Zhen…
“Where is this? Why is everything here black? There’s no sunlight, no moon, no stars. There’s nothing around, not even anything under my feet. I can’t see any objects.”
Gradually, a scene appeared above Liu Yi. There were two people—no, at least not ordinary people. The person on the right was extremely strong, holding a strange axe almost as big as himself. He was floating in mid-air with nothing beneath his feet. Liu Yi tried hard to open his eyes wider, but still couldn’t make out the person’s face.
Suddenly, twelve men on black warhorses appeared behind the ax-wielder. Each wore golden armor and carried long swords, hovering behind him like guardians from the starry skies.
As for the person on the other side, he was dressed in black. His armor appeared to be made of some unknown material, resembling leather, but it made a metallic clinking sound whenever he moved. He wore black gloves and dark black boots, with a black cloak fluttering behind him. His left hand rested on the hilt of a black sword at his waist. His eyes alternated between dark red and normal.
The ax-wielder spoke, “Since I woke up, I’ve made two mistakes.”
“First, I created a divine beast that shouldn’t possess the same divine power as me. Second, I created the demon race, ignoring the existence of the true demons, which led to the mistakes I’ve made now.”
The man in black smiled, seeming very familiar, but Liu Yi still couldn’t see his face. He could only hear, “You’re too arrogant. In the universe, chaos and order, yin and yang—these are unchangeable principles. Even gods can’t change them. The true demons weren’t created by you; they awakened alongside you.”
Liu Yi could sense the ax-wielder’s surprise. He heard, “I don’t understand what you’re saying. But I can tell you that you’ve disrupted the balance of the three realms. So, you must disappear from this world. The three realms and the six paths no longer belong to you.”
“Ha, haha, hahaaha! Excuses! It’s all an excuse! You can’t allow another god with the same power to exist. So, to maintain your position, you must kill me. It has nothing to do with balance.”
The ax-wielder said calmly, “No matter how you interpret it, today, there’s only one thing you can do: have your soul annihilated.” With that, he waved his left hand, and the twelve golden knights behind him spurred their horses, which let out a loud cry as they charged at the man in black…
For some reason, Liu Yi instantly felt his blood boiling. Twelve people charging at one person? And worse, that man in black seemed so familiar, as if Liu Yi had experienced it himself.
Watching the twelve warhorses carrying gods-like riders charge forward, the man in black moved—he turned 45 degrees to the side, knelt slightly, and his right hand, clad in black gloves, formed a palm shape as it gradually approached the hilt of his black sword. With each inch it moved closer, it seemed the strength in his body grew, as if every movement indicated he could draw his sword at any moment. A green glow emanated from his body, while his black cloak flapped violently, more and more intensely…
At that moment, the man with the axe shouted, “Stop! Turn back!” Clearly, he was addressing the twelve knights.
But the speed was too great. Only six of them pulled hard on their reins; with a loud neigh, their horses barely came to a stop. The horses of the other six had already leaped into the air, soaring three zhang above the man in black. Unable to stop, they hesitated no longer and instantly drew the long swords at their waists, ready for battle.
Then the man in black roared, “‘Sorrowful Four Styles’—‘Sword Drawn to Cut the Sky’…” A green light flashed past the six horses.
As Liu Yi watched the man in black, his right hand remained on the sword hilt, as if it hadn’t moved at all. Meanwhile, the six swords above him showed no sign of stopping and continued to sweep toward him.
Liu Yi screamed, “No, don’t…”
